Scratch Game Design

Hey guys Happy Thanksgiving! This week of G.T, we have made Chase games and Platform games.  My chase  game is about A gorilla named Bobo chasing after a  monkey named Banana and my platform game is about a unicorn trying to catch all the birthday cakes. When I started making the game I had to choose my sprites or a computer graphics that adds complexity in the design of the game. I chose a gorilla and a monkey because I thought the monkey would be a great character to control, and the gorilla kinda reminded me of Donkey Kong so, I decided the gorilla would be the villain. I chose a unicorn and a cake because I thought it would be a fun combo.

I think I did a great job on the platformer game but, I need to work on my chase game. Since this was my first time making a video game, I had some difficulties making this game but, I think it could of have become a little better by watching more tutorials and using my time more wisely. Although, I think I could have done better by making them run more smoothly and also instead of Banana rotating while he moves, he could walk form side to side. I also had a hard time figuring out how to set up the timer and score board.

What I like about this project is that everybody's project was the same game but in a way, they were different. For an example, not everybody made a game about a gorilla chasing a monkey or evil bats chasing a sprite named Nano. In fact, my friend Tierra made a game where instead of having the game programmed to chase you, you would be the one to chase while you would get points. One of my favorite chase games are made by a friend of mine named, Kaile. Her game is about a My little pony being chased by a majestic unicorn (which are one of my favorite animals). During Kaile's game, you can even earn points by collecting tacos! Please make sure to check out their blogs to try out their awesome games!
